"Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship" Conference Was Held

Recently, the "Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship" Conference, organized by the Steering Committee of Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship, was held successfully in Beijing Hotel.  The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security vice Minister Wang Xiaochu attended the conference. Deputy Director of the Steering Committee, Vice Chairman of WRSA and CCG  Director was the main organizer of this conference.

Many senior experts and experienced entrepreneurs attended the meeting, including WRSA Policy Advisory Committee and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Municipal Returned Overseas Chinese Federation Tao Qinghua, Deputy Director of WRSA Policy Advisory Committee/Vice Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation Tang Min, Chairman of Ernst & Young Ge Ming, Managing Director of GSR Ventures Ding Jian, as well as attendees from Chinese Overseas Students and Expert Service Center, Xia Wenfeng and Pan Lei.

The conference discussed government’s support policies for Chinese returnees to start their own business and analyzed the latest developments of the issue.

Combined with the advantages and characteristics of overseas students to return for entrepreneurship, experts talked about the current situation of Chinese returnee entrepreneurship and put forward many good suggestions.

At the conference, Wang Xiaochu stressed that “Returnees are special needed talents. To start a business, overseas returnees have many advantages including higher starting point, international networks and so on. Overseas returnees can also strongly promote economic development and innovation in our country. Hence, we should give enough support for returnees to start business. ”  Recently, the implementation of a variety of policies, programs, strategies launched by the central government, principal and municipal governments to attract overseas talents, exactly reflects our attention. To further improve the returnee entrepreneurship, we also need brainstorm and seriously study the opinions of experts.

Meanwhile, difficulties and problems faced by returnees who intend to start their own business were discussed at the conference. Issues, such as returnees are not familiar with the domestic market and regulations; they are lack of management experience; barriers to early financing and other issues are discussed by the participative experts. Experts believed that necessary business training and business counsultancy should be provided to impel the depth of cooperation with private enterprises and to promote successful transformation of returnees from “scientists" to “science and technology entrepreneurs”.

Additional Report: As the highlight of the "2011 China Overseas Students Entrepreneurship Week" in Dalian, the Signing Ceremony of the Steering Committee of Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship and counseling enterprises was held in the Dalian World Expo Centre. Human resources and Social Security Minister Wang Xiaochu, Dalian Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor Xiao Shengfeng, WRSA Vice Chairman Wang Huiyao attended the signing ceremony. WRSA Policy Advisory Committee is one of the organizers of this event.

In recent years, returning for home entrepreneurship is prevailing, being a powerful force to serve the country's economic construction. However, returnees, such as candidates of the Thousands Talent Plan, inevitably have to face serious problems such as not familiar with domestic market and domestic regulations, lack of business management experience and so on.

Earlier this year, The Steering Committee of Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship was found, co-sponsored by Ministry of human resources and social security and WRSA. The committee mainly provides services such as trainings, consulting, and business guidance for entrepreneurial talents and potential enterprises, so as to promote the development of Returnees entrepreneurship.

In addition, the Steering Committee of Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship, Overseas Students and Expert Service Center, along with WRSA Policy Advisory Committee, jointly organized a returnee leader summit themed as "Senior Returnees Entrepreneurship Mentors, Dialogue Future Returnees Stars". Director General of CCG and Deputy Director of Steering Committee of Chinese Returnees Entrepreneurship Wang Huiyao hosted the summit. Entrepreneurial guidance experts Ding Jian, Xu Xiaoping, Xia yingQi and Guo Sheng were invited to share their experience of their business life, so as to guide Returnees entrepreneurship. Their activities have been highly appreciated.
