Dr. WANG Huiyao is Director General of Center for China and Globalization and Vice Chairman of China Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA), Vice Chairman of China International Economic Cooperation Society of Ministry of Commerce and Vice Chairman of China Talent Research Society of Ministry of Human Resources & Social Security in China and he is Vice Chairman of Central Economic Committee of China Jiu San Society. In addition, he is a Senior Visiting Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School, a Senior Fellow at Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and was a Visiting Fellow at Brookings Institution.

Dr. Wang has been a senior advisor to the Chinese government at both central and local levels. He has served as a Task Force Leader for Global Talents Strategy Study Group for Central Government of China and he is an Economic Team Leader for Overseas Experts Advisory Committee of China State Council Overseas Chinese Affairs Office as well as an Advising Member of CPPCC Beijing Committee. Dr. Wang used to work as an official for Chinese Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation.

Dr. Wang's international experience includes serving as Chief Trade Representative for Canada Quebec Government Office in China and Hong Kong, Director of Asia of SNC-Lavalin and Vice President for AMEC-Agra in Canada, both among the largest project consulting and management companies in the world. He had also worked as adviser and consultant to GE, Siemens, Alston, ABB, Westinghouse, and Mitsubishi for their business strategy and development in China.

He had taught as Adjunct Professor at Guanghua Management School of Peking University and Richard Ivey Business School of University of Western Ontario. He is also a Visiting Professor of China Xian Jiaotong University and China University of Political Science and Law. He has published over 20 books and 100 articles and papers on Chinese returnees, Chinese entrepreneurship, Chinese talent and Chinese going global issues. He has also served as an expert for the drafting of China National Talent Development Plan 2010-2020.

Dr. Wang is a frequent speaker at different international forums and often interviewed by well known media such as CCTV, China Daily, People's Daily, BBC, CNN, NHK,  Phoenix TV, Economist, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, USA Today, CBC, Canadian Business, Global and Mail, South China Morning Post, Tsingtao, Minpao etc. He has been invited to give presentations at Harvard, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Columbia, NYU, SAIS and Peking University as well as Tsinghua University. His latest English book Entrepreneurial and Business Elites of China: The Chinese Returnees Who Have Shaped Modern China, was published in 2011 by Emerald Publishing in UK.
